WILMINGTON, MA — The news in Wilmington this year was dominated by a pair of women making an appearance from beyond the grave. In March, residents debated whether the Market Basket was haunted by a young woman in Victorian-era clothing. And in July, Jena Perrone Cormio, 42, of Wilmington, wrote her own joke-laden obituary before she died.

"She is described as short and youngish — between the ages of 17 and 30 — with long, dark hair and light skin. She has blue eyes and was wearing Victorian-era clothing," Patch reported. Less than a week later, Market Basket put out a statement that, as far as they know, none of their stores are haunted.

Wilmington Woman Gets Last Laugh With Her Obituary

Jena Perrone Cormio, 42, of Wilmington, died July 3 of a brain tumor, but not before penning her joke-laden obituary. "Jena's villain in this life is that b---- 'Rachel' (aka Brain Tumor)," she wrote.

In November, Patch reported on the stories of three students whose parents said they were bullied out of the district, while attending Wilmington Middle School. Parents said that the school did not take the bullying seriously and isolated their children, instead of punishing the bullies.
