WILMINGTON, MA — Town Manager Jeffrey Hull retired this week after 36 years of service to the town.

Hull grew up in Western Massachusetts and began his career as an assistant town manager in Wilmington in 1987 after several years working as an administrator in Ayer, according to a Facebook post from the town.

Hull succeeded Michael Caira as town manager and has served in that role ever since.

"Mr. Hull has always been a consummate professional as a steward for this Town," the post reads. "Over the years, he has incorporated his personal values and commitment to sound budgeting through all the efforts he has put forth for the community and its tax payers. Employees have been grateful for his poise, his gentle approach to challenges including managing through the pandemic, his firm but fair management style and his propensity to lighten any mood by incorporating song lyrics into important messages and communications."

Hull is a marathon runner and enjoys spending time outdoors.

"We hope he can now get some more time for these passions and all hope he stops by to visit in the years ahead, jogging through this beautiful community he’s helped maintain and grow," the post reads. "Thank you for everything, Mr. Hull. We hope you enjoy this next chapter in your life."
