Mexican Restaurant Coming To Vacant Chili's Space In Wilmington

Officials from Casa Blanca Mexican Restaurant will seek an alcohol license at the July 9 selectmen's meeting.

WILMINGTON, MA -- The shuttered Chili's restaurant at 207 Main Street in Wilmington appears to be getting a new tenant. Officials from Casa Blanca Mexican Restaurant are scheduled to meet with selectmen on July 9 to obtain a liquor license for the location. The Wilmington location would be the sixth for the local chain, which also operates restaurants in Andover, Billerica, North Andover, Haverhill, and Methuen.

The restaurant has been vacant since last August when Chili's closed after seven years in Wilmington. Wilmington officials have renewed efforts in recent months to address commercial vacancies on Main Street and recently approved a proposal to commission a market analysis.
