Mexican Restaurant Sets Wilmington Opening For Early 2019

The restaurant had originally been scheduled to open this fall.

WILMINGTON, MA -- Casa Blanca plans to open its Wilmington location in early 2019. The restaurant had planned to open this fall, but the two-month closing of its Andover location as a result of the Sept. 13 Merrimack Valley gas explosions forced a delay. The restaurant is taking over a shuttered location at 207 Main Street that had previously been occupied by Chili's.

According to the Wilmington Apple, which first reported this story, Casa Blanca has already received approval for its liquor license and its floor plans were reviewed by the Board of Health last month.

The Wilmington location would be the sixth for the local chain, which also operates restaurants in Andover, Billerica, North Andover, Haverhill, and Methuen. The space at 207 Main Street has been vacant since last August when Chili's closed after seven years in Wilmington.
