OBITUARY: Ruth Myrtle (Michaud) McIntosh, 97, of Wilmington

"A loving and witty lady, Ruth's greatest joys came from being a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother. "

McINTOSH – Ruth Myrtle (Michaud) McIntosh, of Wilmington, MA, formerly of Lexington, MA and Wolfeboro, NH, passed away peacefully at the age of 97, surrounded by family, on October 4, 2016.

Ruth was born on May 31, 1919, in Portland, Maine. She was the daughter of Nellie and Charles H. Michaud, and was the loving sister to Doris E. Moody. She graduated from Deering High School, where she met her one true love and beloved husband of 51 years, Lloyd (“Mac”) Ross McIntosh.

A loving and witty lady, Ruth’s greatest joys came from being a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother. Ruth, also known as Ruthie, Grammie and Ning Ning, will be forever celebrated by all those who knew and loved her vibrant spirit. There is no doubt that she lived her 97 years in inspiring style – never missing an opportunity to go shopping! Whether she was playing bingo, traveling the world, solving a word search, or sipping chardonnay, she always had a smile on her face and the ability to form a lasting friendship. Volunteerism was quite important to Ruth, and she was very proud of the many years that she devoted to the gift shop at Symmes Hospital. A lifelong Boston sports fan, she will undoubtedly be cheering for Tom Brady’s return come Sunday and a Red Sox World Series WIN for Big Papi’s final season! Ruth appreciated the simple beauty in life each day and will be especially remembered in a sunset on Lake Winnipesaukee. Above all, she made people laugh, promoted kindness and lived an extremely full life.
