Wilmington Announces Trash Pickup, School Schedule Changes

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Department of Public Works tweeted the following Monday afternoon:

"Due to Tuesday’s predicted heavy storm, there will be no curbside trash or recycle pickup on TUESDAY February 13, 2024. Please bring your barrels off the street so that crews may adequately clear snow, and return them by 6:30am Wednesday morning."

"If you haven't seen the weather yet, we are expecting a significant winter storm tomorrow morning. Current estimates put us in the 8"-12" range for snow accumulation. According to the US National Weather Service Boston MA the highest impacts will be felt between 8 AM and 3 PM. Travel during this period will be hazardous and is not recommended.

"**PLEASE AVOID UNNECESSARY TRAVEL DURING THE STORM.** We also want to remind residents that there is no on-street parking during the hours of 1AM - 6AM as well as during snow plowing operations. Please ensure all vehicles are removed from the street before heading to bed this evening."

Schools also announced they would be closed Tuesday:

"The Wilmington Public Schools (programs & offices) will be closed Tuesday, February 13, 2024."
