Wilmington Annual Town Meeting Set For April 29 At WHS

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Town Moderator Jonathan Eaton has formally invited residents to participate in next month's Annual Town Meeting.

Town Meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. on April 29 at Wilmington High School, located at 159 Church St. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. and the meeting will commence when there is a quorum of 150 registered voters in attendance.

Everyone registered to vote in Wilmington by April 12 is eligible to participate in Town Meeting, according to officials.

"It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to the Joanne M. Benton Auditorium at Wilmington High School for our Annual Town Meeting on Saturday, April 29," Eaton wrote in a letter posted online that highlighted notable procedures and other processes ahead of the meeting.

Eaton added: "I want to extend my gratitude to the town employees who put in a significant amount of work coordinating the logistics of this meeting, the volunteers who work to ensure that the meeting is well-run, and you, the residents, who dedicate the time to attending Town Meeting to make decisions to direct your town government."

According to Wilmington officials, the town counts on registered voters to attend the meeting to make decisions on budgets, capital projects, zoning articles and other items. The 2023 Annual Town Meeting Warrant contains a list of the Articles to be voted on at Town Meeting.

The articles were previously reviewed during a March 21 joint hearing of the Finance Committee and Planning Board. The hearing was open to the public.
