Wilmington Blizzard: Up To Two Feet Of Snow Likely

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington's overnight parking ban is in effect, the town reminded residents in preparation for the expected blizzard Saturday.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for the region that will be in effect all day Saturday. The service forecasts 15 to 26 inches of snow in Wilmington beginning late Friday.

In the area covered by the blizzard warning, winds could gust at 50 to 60 miles per hour and visibility may drop below one-quarter of a mile, the Weather Service said.

Parking ban

Wilmington's overnight parking ban runs from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. all winter.

Transit

All Lowell Regional Transit Authority bus and Road Runner service is suspended Saturday.

Wilmington Memorial Library

The library will be closed Saturday.

Other information

Residents are encouraged to avoid travel and to check on the elderly and other people who may be at risk.

"We ask that you remain patient as our crews work throughout the weekend to clear the roads," the town said.
