Wilmington COVID-19 Positive Rate Still Falling, Back Below 2%

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington's coronavirus case count and positive rate continue to fall rapidly, according to the latest Department of Public Health report.

The town's positive rate fell below 2 percent for the first time since the July 29 report. Over the last two weeks, 1.89 percent of tests in town came back positive, down from 3.62 percent in the prior report.

There were 33 cases over the last two weeks, or 9.1 daily cases per 100,000 residents. In last week's report, the town reported 61 cases.

As of Tuesday, there were just two confirmed active positives in town, the town Health Department reported, although "there probably is more but the home tests aren't reported."

As of Thursday's report, 81.1 percent of residents were at least partially vaccinated, 73.7 percent were fully vaccinated and 43.4 percent had received a booster dose.
