Wilmington Police Warn About 'License To Carry' Scam

Police have issued a scam alert after receiving a report from a resident recently.

WILMINGTON, MA — Police are warning residents about a scam reported recently.

Police posted the following scam alert on Facebook:

A vigilant resident reported receiving a text message from 877-374-3145, claiming his License To Carry (LTC) was expiring with a link to renew. We have confirmed this is a SCAM. Massachusetts does not send LTC renewals via text.
