Wilmington Public Schools Offering 10 Summer Enrichment Courses

After offering Computer Aided Design and Robotics in 2022, classes now include: programming, cooking, yoga and Mathematics of Knitting.

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Public Schools have announced details of the Summer 2023 Enrichment Courses, which are available to middle school and high school students.

After offering computer aided design (CAD) and robotics in 2022, the district has expanded its offering this summer to include classes like: programming, college essay writing, cooking, yoga and the Mathematics of Knitting.

"Wilmington Public Schools is excited to offer 10 great summer enrichment opportunities for middle and high school students," Matt Hackett, interim social studies curriculum team leader and co-director of the Summer Enrichment program, told Patch.

All classes take place at Wilmington High School, located at 159 Church St.

Registration for the courses is available online and payment is due upon registration. Payment can be made by check to Wilmington High School, 159 Church St., Wilmington, MA 01887. Or, the check can be dropped off at the WHS Main Office, c/o Matthew Hackett, Summer Enrichment. Parents should list their child's name and the course(s) in the memo section.

The Summer Enrichment Courses include:

  • Introduction to FTC Robotics, students entering grades 7-12, 9 a.m. to noon on July 17-21. Cost: $250
  • Experienced FTC Robotics, students entering grades 7-12, 9 a.m. to noon on July 17-21. Cost: $250
  • Introduction to Computer Aided Design (CAD), students entering grades 7-12, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 24-27. Cost: $150
  • Intro to Programming, students entering grades 6-12, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on July 17-20. Cost $100
  • Summer Book Club, students entering grades 6-12, 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on July 14, 21, 28. Cost: $100
  • Spicing Up Your College Essay, students entering grades 11-12, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 24-27. Cost: 120
  • Kitchen Basics from Scratch, students entering grades 6-12, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 10-13. Cost: $160
  • Beginner Yoga, students entering grades 7-12, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on July 18, 20, 25, 27. Cost: $80.
  • Vinyasa Yoga, student entering grades 7-12, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 18, 20, 25, 27. Cost: $80
  • The Mathematics of Knitting, students entering grades 6-12, 10:30 a.m. to noon on July 17-20. Cost: $120
