Wilmington Schools Rated, Ranked By Education Platform Niche

WILMINGTON, MA — Niche, an education platform, published its new 2023 Best Schools and Districts rankings on Tuesday.

Now in its ninth year, the rankings include updated data for 92,743 public schools, 30,112 private schools, and 11,820 school districts nationwide, according to Niche.

Among the local highlights: Wilmington Public Schools' highest-ranked elementary school in the state is North Intermediate (No. 289), Wilmington Middle School is ranked No. 128 in the state, and Wilmington High School is ranked No. 132 in the state.

Niche said its rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.

The education platform said its rankings were created to provide families with valuable information — both quantitative and qualitative — on schools in their area or in a neighborhood they're not familiar with yet.

Wilmington Public Schools received an overall grade of B+ and was ranked No. 92 of 219 on the list of 2023 Best School Districts In Massachusetts.

Elementary: There are 987 schools ranked on the list of Best Public Elementary Schools In Massachusetts.

• North Intermediate: B+: No. 289
• Woburn Street: B+, No. 332
• West Intermediate: B, No. 378
• Shawsheen: B, No. 471
• Boutwell Early Childhood Center: B, ranking not listed

Middle School: There are 460 schools ranked on the list of Best Public Middle Schools In Massachusetts.

• Wilmington Middle School: B+, No. 128

High School: There are 363 schools ranked on the list of Best Public High Schools in Massachusetts.

• Wilmington High School: B+, No. 132
