Wilmington's 2023 Fun On The Fourth Schedule Released

The annual celebration starts in June and will have two fireworks shows, food, music, a Family Day, fun run, pie eating contest and more.

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Fourth of July Committee on Thursday released the schedule for the 2023 Wilmington Fun on the Fourth celebration this summer.

The annual celebration will take place from Thursday, June 29 to Sunday, July 2, mostly on the Wilmington Town Common. The event will be highlighted by the Family Day Fireworks at 9 p.m. on July 1, and the Spectacular Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. on July 2.

Among the groups scheduled to perform are: the Big Random on June 29, the Island Castaways on June 30, All That 90's and Red Line on July 1, and 7 Day Weekend on July 2.

Among the other annual events are the Firecracker Family Fun Run on June 29, the Blueberry Pie Eating Contest on June 29, horseshoes throughout the weekend, the Antique Car Show on June 30, and a Cornhole Tournament on July 1.

Family Day on July 1 will include a limbo contest, Hula Hoop contest, magic show, balloon animals, train rides, face painting, three-legged race and a water balloon toss.

There also will be a handful of community meals sponsored by local organizations. The June 29 Rotary Dinner will feature hamburgers and hot dogs, the June 30 WHS Hall of Fame Dinner will have Mexican cuisine, the July 1 Wilmington Minuteman Breakfast will have pancakes and sausage, while a Tremezzo Ristorante-sponsored Community Cookout on July 1 will feature hot dogs.

According to the Wilmington Fourth of July Committee, this will be the 41st Fun on the Fourth celebration and the 27th Family Day.
