WPS CATS Parent Booster Group Hosting Family Feud Fundraiser

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Public Schools Choral and Theater Support booster group (WPS CATS) is sponsoring an adults-only Family Feud fundraiser next month.

The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Feb. 10 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Wilmington, located at 112 Middlesex Ave. Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for eligible graduating seniors involved in the choral and theater programs at Wilmington High School.

The fundraiser costs $25 per person and $125 for a team of five. Twelve teams will be randomly selected to compete. Attendees can choose to compete or simply cheer on their favorite team.

The evening also will feature a cash bar, and participants are encouraged to bring their favorite snacks to share with their table.

The game show portion of the event will be hosted by Gregory Nickerson, from Jaminic Music/The Entertainment Nation, who has received rave reviews for hosting similar events throughout the greater Boston area.

There also will be dancing after the game show portion of the event, and the evening will feature a variety of raffles.

"We invite you to join us for a rousing evening of classic game show fun," said Julie Hall, WPS CATS secretary. "What better way to spend a winter evening than by supporting talented, creative kids? Survey says ... you don't want to miss this event."

WPS CATS is a volunteer parent-run organization that provides hands-on and financial support for the choral and theater performing arts groups at Wilmington High School and Wilmington Middle School.

Among the groups that receive financial support from WPS CATS are: WHS Lamplighters Guild, WHS Soundscape a capella group, WHS Chorus, WMS Drama Club, WMS Wilmingtones a capella group, and the WMS Chorus.

WPS CATS holds numerous fundraisers throughout the year, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to support drama and choral groups and students who are part of those groups.

Hall said this is the first time the group has ever put on a Family Feud fundraiser.

"Game-themed events such as these tend to be popular choices for booster organizations as they offer a fun and entertaining night out for the participants," Hall said.
