Snow Emergency Declared In Winchester

All parked vehicles must be off of streets between noon Thursday and noon Friday.

Winchester has declared a snow emergency from Thursday, January 4th at noon until Friday, January 5th at noon. All parked vehicles must be off of streets and placed on private property during these hours. Vehicles unable to be parked off street may be parked at the Town Hall/Jenks Senior Center for the duration of the storm. Vehicles parked on roadways during this period may be ticketed and towed.

Winchester Public Schools will be closed on Thursday and all activities and programs in school buildings are cancelled.

The Transfer Station will be open on Thursday between the hours of 8 am and noon.

The Winchester Town Hall is closed on Thursday.

Residents are reminded to ensure that side vented gas heaters must be kept clear of drifting snow. Also, generators, snowthrowers and vehicles must not be left running in garages and enclosed areas. Carbon monoxide produced by these machines are colorless, odorless, and deadly.
