Center for Manufacturing Technology awarded grant

Funds provide advanced manufacturing training to eligible unemployed or underemployed candidates

The Center for Manufacturing Technology (CMT) was recently awarded two grants to address critical workforce skills and talent supply gaps among Massachusetts manufacturers, by providing advanced manufacturing training to eligible unemployed or underemployed candidates.

The Massachusetts Center for Advanced Manufacturing, a division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech), provided CMT with Advanced Manufacturing Training Grant Program funding for three cohorts of 12 students for 300 hours of training in general machine shop practices, from July 2024 to March 2025.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024, CMT is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) training facility that offers a wide range of flexible and customizable, on-site or off-site, in-person and online, paid and free (grant-funded) certificate programs to meet the critical training needs of machine shops and advanced manufacturers. CMT operates out of a 3,000 sq. ft. classroom and hands-on lab training facility at 30 Nashua Street.
