WOBURN, MA — Snow caused problems for area motorists and first responders Sunday, prompting a series of crashes and issues across communities north of Boston and beyond.

Snow began falling Sunday afternoon, with flakes lingering into the evening. Snow was set to pile up most extensively in the western part of the state, with upward of six inches of accumulation forecast in the area.
