English At Large to Host Volunteer Fair at Woburn Public Library

Volunteers are needed to provide instructional services to local adult immigrants.

English At Large is currently recruiting volunteers to support its free programs for local immigrants offered in Woburn and surrounding communities! Volunteers receive full training and ongoing support from English At Large staff, and join a committed network of almost 200 local volunteers making a difference for adult English learners working towards a better life.

Interested in learning more? Join us at our Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, May 3rd at 6:00 pm at the Woburn Public Library. Current English At Large volunteers and staff will be on hand to talk about their experience, our programs, and our adult learners.

English At Large volunteers come from a variety of different backgrounds. Most are not career educators; what they do have in common is a desire to give back, and to welcome and support newcomers in their community.

English At Large staff provide every volunteer with the training and support they need to feel confident in their roles, and capable of helping their adult learners gain the skills they need to realize their full potential and achieve their life goals. We also create opportunities for networking with other volunteers, and ongoing professional development from experts in the field of adult education.

English At Large helps adult immigrants gain greater understanding of the English language and U.S. culture through personalized instructional programs designed to support their highest aspirations.
