WOBURN, MA – Three crashes sent at least three people to the hospital and drew a court summons for a fourth person over just under 15 hours on I-93 near the Wilmington, Woburn and Reading municipal borders on Sunday.

State Police shared information on the incidents on Monday after spending several hours on scene the previous day.

The first of the crashes took place around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, State Police said, when a vehicle rolled over on I-93 northbound in Wilmington. A second vehicle then crashed into the first vehicle.

Those crews were still on scene at the first crash site around 1:15 a.m., State Police said, when two more vehicles crashed, this time in Woburn. That crash also took place on I-93 as traffic backed up behind the first incident. One of the drivers was taken to Winchester Hospital, according to State Police.

Crews left both overnight crash scenes around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, State Police said.

They were then back on scene on Sunday afternoon, though, responding to a crash on I-93 southbound near Exit 31 in Wilmington around 3:15 p.m.

A Nissan SUV and a Dodge Ram pickup truck collided in that incident.

Though no one was injured, police issued a summons to a Randolph man, 27, for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended/revoked license and a marked lanes violation.

UPDATE: This article has been updated to include additional information about two crashes early Sunday morning.
