OBITUARY: Albert "Albie" Calixto, 55, of Woburn

"Albie will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of sharing in his life."

Albert “Albie” Calixto, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 25th at the age of fifty five. Albie was the loving father of Vanessa Melanson. Born and raised in Woburn, he was the son of the late Espel Calixto and Benita Sanchez. He resided in Woburn with his beloved mother for the majority of his life.

A hard working man throughout his life, Albie worked for AT&T and then on to Raytheon right up until not too long ago.

Albie will always be remembered for his charismatic sense of humor and a smile that could light up the room, as well as a stylish ensemble. He was always very meticulous about his appearance and very much a “Neat Nick”.

Though Albie was a lifetime resident of Woburn, he was very proud of his Puerto Rican heritage. Puerto Rican food, including beans, rice and with yucca were all things he very much enjoyed eating which took him back to his roots.

Known for being physically active and very social, Albie always enjoyed playing a game of pool or rollerblading around. The Moose Family Club and the South End Italian Club were places he frequented, socializing with family and friends. In addition, Albie was known to be very good at cutting a little rug on the dance floor in true Albie fashion!

A very close family man, Albie was always spending time with family and friends, always enjoying the company of his nieces and nephews. Albie will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of sharing in his life.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, October 28th at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Interment in Woodbrook cemetery, Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours Thursday, 4-8 p.m.
