Robert J. 'Bob' Volpicelli, 82, of Woburn

A beloved husband, loving father and more.

WOBURN, MA — Robert J. "Bob" Volpicelli passed away at his home amongst his beloved family, New Years Day, January 1st. The beloved husband of Lucy Ann (Tropeano) Volpicelli, he was eighty two years of age.

Born in Boston, Bob was the son of the late Victor and Louise (Mazzione) Volpicelli. He grew up in the North End of Boston and was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School with the Class of 1952.

Bob met his lovely wife Lucy in the North End where they were married in St. Mary's Church in 1954.

In Bob's younger years he operated a very successful pushcart business in Haymarket Square selling quahogs and fresh seafood. After a while Bob had a vision of becoming an entrepreneur, later founding the Little Fox Spice Company, which he operated out of Medford, later moving the company to Woburn, where Bob and Lucy later settled .

Bob truly enjoyed gardening, specializing in tomatoes. Bob and Lucy would make trips to Disneyworld with their children, Cape Cod, visited the tall ships when they were in port and in later years Las Vegas. The jorney and destination that they will never forget was to Italy. Their visit to Medjudjore Shrine was beyond belief, truly an inspirational trip of a lifetime.

Sadly, Bob was predeceased by his parents and siblings, John Volpicelli, Ursula Vigna, and the Victor Volpicelli .

Bob is lovingly survived by his dear wife Lucy Ann (Tropeano) Volpicelli, children Donna Breen her husband George of Ocala, FL, Doreen Volpicelli of Woburn, Barbara Corbett her husband David of Lawrence, the late John Volpicelli, the late Ursula Vigna, the late Victor John Volpicelli Jr. "Grand Bobby" of Christopher Volpicelli, his wife Dessi of NY, Robert Volpicelli his wife Shari of CA, Derek Volpicelli his wife Valerie of Melrose, Lucy Underwood, her husband Jason of AL, Joshua Breen his wife Jillian of Fl, Erica Harmon, her husband Chris of Lawrence, Robert McGourty of Woburn. "Great Grand Bobby" of Dylan, Brandon, Devin, Sam, Joseph, Preston, Summer, Emil, Ava, Victor, Olivia, Ivy, Lucca, Layla, Rhyes. Also survived by many, many loving nieces and nephews.
