WATCH: Highlights of Woburn vs. Winchester Football from 1949

The 125-year rivalry will write another chapter Thursday when the Tanners take on the Sachems.

WOBURN, MA — The Woburn Tanners and Winchester Sachems will get together Thursday morning to write the latest chapter in the two team's historic 125-year football rivalry. According to the Winchester Rotary Club, the rivalry has been in existence since 1891.

According to the Boston Globe, the all-time record between the two squads is 46-53-12 in favor of the Sachems. This will be the 112th meeting between the two squads.

This year's game will also likely mark the end of another historic Woburn football story, as Head Coach Rocky Nelson plans to hang up his clipboard at the end of the season. Nelson has lead the Tanners into 30 thanksgiving day games against the Sachems.

The Tanners will also look to not only defend last season's 25-20 victory, but send their hall-of-fame coach out with a winning season. However, both the Tanners and the Sachems will look to end their season on a winning note, as both teams stand at an even 5-5 record.

In preparation for Thursday's game, which begins at 10 a.m. at Connolly Stadium, here's a look at some highlights from the Woburn and Winchester game in 1949, published by the Woburn Public Media Center.
