SCI Social Capital Inc. was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from Winning Home, Inc. to support the SCI Youth Grant Pitch Contest (YGPC). Albert “Chip” Curran, Jr. (Treasurer) and Robert Maguire (President) recently visited the SCI offices to present the Winning Home, Inc. grant award to the SCI team.

The 2024 YGPC is an opportunity for youth to be in the driver’s seat of positive change for their community while providing the guidance, monetary resources, and social capital needed to make a real impact. From six coaching sessions in February 2024 – March 2024, volunteer coaches will mentor each youth team in developing their project idea and creating it into a pitch presentation. The program will culminate at the in-person pitch event on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, where a minimum of 7 youth teams will receive a collective total of $10,000 in grant funding for their pitched project.

Do you know of a youth group that may be interested in forming a 2024 Youth Grant Pitch Contest youth team? The YGPC invites youth from Woburn and several other communities across Greater Boston to participate! Would you or someone you know be interested in coaching a youth team? Visit SCI’s YGPC webpage at https://socialcapitalinc.org/ygpc to fill out their interest form or youth team application. Youth team applications are due December 20th (priority deadline), with the final deadline for rolling applications on January 12, 2024.
