WOBURN, MA — A planned Tiger Trot fundraiser at Woburn’s Malcom White Elementary School last week had raised more than $7,000 as of Friday, school Principal Robert Nickerson announced.

The Tiger Trot took place at the Malcom White School on Wednesday, drawing more than 300 student participants. The event saw students complete laps of the school’s field while wearing school spirit gear.

Families and community members donated as part of the program. Money will now back various student enrichment activities.

"The Tiger Trot is a great way for us to gather together as a school and participate in a fun activity for a good cause," Nickerson said. "Thank you to everyone who donated.”

Last week’s Tiger Trot was open to all Malcom White students. It gave students the opportunity to run, walk or skip through as many laps as they could during a 15-minute window, as noted in a pre-event announcement from the Malcom White Parent Teacher Organization.
