Woburn Mayor's Field Day Postponed Friday Due To Expected Rain

The event has been rescheduled for August 24 at Library Park and will feature bounce houses, arts and crafts, face painting and music.

WOBURN, MA — The Woburn Recreation Department has announced that Mayor's Field Day, originally scheduled for Friday, has been postponed until next week due to expected rain.

The event now is scheduled to take place from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, August, 24, at Library Park, 63 Harrison Ave.

In a Facebook post about the rescheduled event, Woburn Recreation said Field Day will feature bounce houses, spin art, arts and crafts, face painting, balloon twisters and a rock wall. However, the organization said that some of the activities originally scheduled for the event will not take place due to vendor schedules.

Mayor's Field Day also is expected to include a children's concert featuring Johnny the K, which will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Friday's forecast, according to the National Weather Service, calls for showers and thunderstorms before 3 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
