Woburn Performers Take Stage At Peabody International Festival

WOBURN, MA — Woburn had representation before the big crowds of the Peabody International Festival in Peabody this past weekend in the form of Renee Danielle Levitt and Jennifer Murphy.

Two parts of the country act Renee and the Renegades, Levitt and Murphy joined a slate of over a dozen acts performing in this year’s iteration of the annual International Festival.

The festival marked its 35th year this year. It has regularly drawn between 50,000 and 80,000 people, according to estimates on its website.

Levitt, a Woburn resident, fronts the country music band that bears her name. She’s been singing since she was young. She then launched the Renegades project four years ago in 2018, as noted in a festival preview from the Salem News.

Levitt counts a performance of the National Anthem at a Red Sox game among her musical accomplishments. She’s also earned radio airplay with at least 13 original songs.

Murphy is a graduate of Lexington Christian Academy and had previously worked with Levitt before joining her again in Peabody this weekend.

In addition to her scheduled set, Levitt took the stage in Peabody to sing the National Anthem for the larger International Festival event.
