WOBURN, MA — Woburn schools will be closed Friday due to the predicted snowstorm, Superintendent Matthew Crowley said.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning Thursday that will be in effect 1 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in Woburn. The service forecasts 5 to 11 inches of snowfall in Woburn from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

Because the state is not counting any remote learning days toward the required 180-day in-person learning requirement this year, snow days will be traditional snow days, unlike the hybrid or remote days some districts had last year.
