Woburn, Winchester Football Teams Prep For Thanksgiving Game
Winchester will host Woburn this year in the latest iteration of a historic Thanksgiving rivalry between the two schools.
WOBURN, MA — The fall sports season may be winding down. But area football teams not currently in the playoffs still have at least one more round of action left on their schedules before the end of 2022.
Woburn Memorial High School’s varsity football team will head to Winchester on Thursday for its 2022 Thanksgiving game, taking on Winchester on its home turf.
Woburn, which ranked 10th overall in MIAA Division II power rankings will look to hold off 27th-ranked Winchester to end the season on a winning note. A win would follow a dramatic victory for Woburn over Winchester a year ago under the lights in a special Thanksgiving game hosted at Fenway Park.

Back on high school turf, Woburn moved through the regular season this fall with a 5-3 win-loss record. The 10th-place ranking earned Woburn a spot in the playoffs, though the team lost in the first round to Marshfield.
Winchester missed the playoffs this fall with a 2-6 win-loss record.

Kickoff for this week’s Thanksgiving game is set for Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Winchester’s Knowlton Stadium.
