On October 16, 2024, at the Marriott in Burlington, Massachusetts, we will come together to commemorate 175 years of courage, dedication and service to the community. Since the arrival of three Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in Boston in November 1849, their journey has been one of profound commitment to making known God’s goodness through education and advocacy, especially for women and children. Four-time Tony Award-nominated choreographer and director Camille A. Brown is a “prodigious” (VOGUE) Bessie, Obie, and Princess Grace Award-winning choreographer and director. She made history as the first Black director at the Metropolitan Opera to direct a mainstage production when she co-directed Fire Shut Up In My Bones (2021). With the Broadway revival of for colored girls… in 2022 (which earned her a Tony nomination for Best Direction of a Play), she became the first Black woman to direct and choreograph a Broadway play since Katherine Dunham in 1955.
Following her work as the choreographer of the new Alicia Keys musical Hell’s Kitchen, which led to a Tony Award nomination for Best Choreography, Brown returns to the roots of her own dance company, deepening her exploration of Black joy in a new work titled I AM.

Boston's Comedy Queen, Christine Hurley, returns to Apex Entertainment Marlborough on Friday, Sept. 13 to co-headline an exceptional bill with "Best of Boston" Will Noonan and Jeff Koen, one of New England's best comedy hosts.
General admission tickets are $30 for the show, or enhance your event with VIP high-top tables ($160), each accomodating four guests. This exclusive seating comes with a dedicated server to cater to your food and beverage needs.
Show-only tickets are available for $35 (cash only) on the night of the show, if seats are available.
Showtime is 8 p.m. Doors to the private reception area open at 6, and guests are welcome to come early to order dinner or have drinks before the show. The showroom opens at 7:30.
All seats are reserved. Guests must be 21+.
Christine Hurley loves what she does…making people laugh! Married to Jimmy Hurley and having five kids, Christine is never at a loss for comedic material. For years, she entertained family, friends and neighbors in their kitchens, at barbeques and the grocery store aisles. The only difference now is she uses a microphone and a stage and has become one of the hottest comedians in the United States. Christine’s maiden voyage into the world of stand-up comedy was an open audition in New York City. The television network Nick at Nite was looking for America’s Funniest Mom. Out of thousands of entries, Christine was selected to be a finalist on the nationally televised show. The producers of the show included Carol Leifer (Seinfeld show producer), Jeff Singer (talent scout, Montreal Comedy Festival), Jeffrey Ross (Comedy Central roast master) and actress Sandra Bernhardt. Her stories and views on motherhood and marriage are exactly what everyone is living through…people get it and love it! Christine Hurley has quickly become a favorite in the Boston comedy world.
Will Noonan was named “Boston’s Best Comedian” by The Improper Bostonian magazine and is sometimes known as The Honda Guy for his current job as spokesman in Honda commercials on TV and radio. He’s gained notoriety for his fan-favorite role as “the event planner” in the Netflix movie The Sleepover and has appeared in other films including the independent Salesmen, currently in post-production. Onstage, he’s headlined at all of the top stages in Boston and around the New England region, and has performed on MTV‘s Ridiculousness, Laughs on FOX, Gotham Comedy Live on HULU. His CD gets frequent play on Sirius Satellite Radio.
Jeff Koen’s family was on America’s Funniest Home Videos and won $10,000. Can anything be more glamorous than that? Koen often works the clubs and theaters of New England with Juston McKinney and is in constant demand as an actor on independent film projects. He’s known for his portrayal of one of the characters in the on-line cartoon Man Servants, and for playing the offensive “Uncle Rick” in the 2010 cult film Heavy Times, which gained him fans from all of the world, though not very many in any one country. “A guy from Sri Lanka wanted to visit me and stay at my house,” he said. “All he needed me to do was write a letter to the prime minister.” His work has appeared at many film festivals, and he’s a regular performer on the Hampton Beach (NH) Comedy Festival.

Therapy animals* are generally privately owned pets who are brought by their handlers to places to bring joy and smiles. This program is made possible by Tufts Paws for People, which is a Community Partner of the Pet Partners organization. *Tufts Paws for People uses the national Pet Partners program to register their volunteer teams. This program requires handler training and evaluation of animals before they can be approved to volunteer. Therapy animals are typically personal pets. Their work is not focused on their own handler like a service animal; instead, their work provides benefits to other people. Unitarian Universalist Society of Grafton and Upton

Cellist Guy Fishman will be performing at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Grafton (UUSGU) on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 3:00 pm. The concert benefits the UUSGU LiftUP Campaign, aimed at installing a vertical lift to the main meeting space and sanctuary of the meetinghouse.
UUSGU is a vital thread in the fabric of the community. We host programs that serve vulnerable, at-risk, and diverse populations; share our space with other congregations; and work with other nonprofits. The installation of a lift ensures that people of all abilities can access our historic meetinghouse, and makes our space more available as a community resource.
Mr. Fishman is a principal of Boston’s Handel and Haydn Society and a specialist in early music. He has performed as a soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestral player for Boston Baroque, Emmanuel Music, the Boston Museum Trio, and others. His dynamic performances are in demand both in this country and abroad.
Mr. Fishman plays a rare cello made in Rome in 1704.
The concert starts at 3:00 pm, doors open at 2:30 pm.
Tickets are $25 for general seating, with limited VIP seating at $35. Children under 12 are $20.
