Woman Arraigned In Stabbing Death Of Mother Of Three In Fitchburg

The mother of three was found bleeding to death in the street. A woman has been charged with her murder.

FITCHBURG, MA—A woman was held without bail on Thursday after being arraigned on a murder charge in the stabbing death of a 34-year-old mother of three from Fitchburg, said Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Wanda Liz Gonzalez, 33, Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, was originally charged with domestic assault and battery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, but the charge was elevated to murder Thursday.

Jennifer Narvaez-Colon was found in the street outside of the home on Wanoosnoc Road that she shared with Gonzalez after Fitchburg police responded to 911 calls at 10:17 p.m. on Nov. 6. Police found Gonzalez in a bedroom bleeding from wounds to her head and neck. Narvaez-Colon was pronounced dead at UMass Memorial – University Campus in Worcester early the following morning.

Narvaez-Colon's children, ages 13, 12 and 8, were taken from the home.

The murder charge was added after the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the death a homicide.

Judge Mark Goldstein continued the case to Nov. 28 for a pretrial conference.

The homicide remains under investigation by state police detectives.
