Summer gasoline prices are expected to be the lowest in six years this summer as the price of crude oil continues to tumble, the Energy Department said.

Nationally, analysts predict consumers will spend $2.45 a gallon on average – 32 percent less than they were this time last year. For the year, gasoline should average around $2.40 a gallon, down from $3.36 for the year prior, the department’s Energy Information Administration said.
