CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A body was found Sunday night in the ventilation system inside a Macomb Community College building, according to police.

The body was found while someone was looking for the source of a foul odor at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts at the college's Center Campus building, located at Hall and Garfield roads in Clinton Township, police said.

It was unclear who found the body, but investigators do not suspect any foul play, police said. Officials did not release the identity of the body.

"There is no reason to suspect foul play," Macomb College Police Chief William Leavens said. "At this point, it is important to remember that this an ongoing investigation, with the goal to understand the circumstances. We are withholding the individual’s identification until we can make proper family notifications. Our deepest condolences go out to his family."

No further details were released by police.
