Check Out The Massive Kroger Opening In Macomb County

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — There's a new supermarket in town. Wednesday is the opening day of the 129,145-square-foot Sterling Heights Kroger Marketplace. The store, located at 2051 18 Mile Road, will open for business at 8 a.m., and the first 600 customers will be presented with a $10 Kroger gift card and free reusable shopping bag.

After ten months of construction, the new Kroger Marketplace store represents a $35 million investment in the Sterling Heights community, officials said. The store offers avariety of organic fruits and vegetables, Murray’s Cheese, natural foods and gluten-free products, along with nonfood items such as clothing, shoes, toys and home goods. Shoppers will also find an in-store Starbucks, hot food selection and Kroger Pickup, Kroger’s online ordering and parking lot pickup service as other amenities.

The Sterling Heights store will be the second Kroger in Michigan to feature the meat, seafood, deli and bakery departments in an island-style layout in the center of the store, allowing shoppers to find many of their most needed items in one central location.

“We can’t wait to welcome the community into our brand new store,” said James Faircloth, Sterling Heights Kroger Marketplace store manager. “We feel this will be such a great asset for our Sterling Heights neighbors and that busy shoppers will thoroughly enjoy the convenience of having so many great food, gift and seasonal items all in one location.”

Store hours are 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. daily. The new store also offers an in-store pharmacy and onsite fuel center.
