Favorite Kids' TV Show Filmed in Michigan Up for Daytime Emmys

"The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation" has been nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards for the second consecutive year.

An educational program filmed at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn has been nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards, the museum said Thursday.

“The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation,” produced in partnership with Litton Entertainment, was nominated for the awards for the second consecutive year by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The nominations are:

  • Outstanding Special Class Series
  • Outstanding Writing Special Class
  • Outstanding Sound Mixing - Live Action

The national television series airs as part of CBS Television Network’s “CBS Dream Team: It’s Epic!” Saturday morning lineup.

“Since premiering in 2014, we have received an amazing response from both our guests and fans around the globe in regards to ‘The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation’,” Patricia Mooradian, president of The Henry Ford, said in a statement.

“This show is truly making a difference in the lives of young people each week, inspiring and showing them that anything is possible,” Mooradian said. “This nomination only solidifies the wonderful effort put forth from both the staff at The Henry Ford and the production team that makes this show possible.”

Hosted by CBS News correspondent Mo Rocca and airing each weekend on The CBS Network, the Emmy-winning weekly half-hour program highlights stories related to the process of innovation and showcases the many experiences that are accessible at The Henry Ford Museum.

The program won a Daytime Emmy in 2015 for “Outstanding Special Class Series.”

The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be presented May 1 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles.
