Macomb County Woman Wins $2M From Scratch-Off Ticket: MI Lottery

A Macomb County woman won a $2 million prize from a scratch-off ticket, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

The lucky 61-year-old woman, who chose to remain anonymous, bought the winning Magnificent 7s lottery ticket from the Sunoco gas station, located at 42986 Mound Road in Sterling Heights, lottery officials said.

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI — A Macomb County woman won a $2 million prize from a scratch-off ticket, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

The lucky 61-year-old woman, who chose to remain anonymous, bought the winning Magnificent 7s lottery ticket from the Sunoco gas station, located at 42986 Mound Road in Sterling Heights, lottery officials said.

"When I scratched this ticket and saw I’d won $2 million, it wasn’t clicking in my head that I really won," the woman said. "I just stared at the ticket in disbelief waiting for it to sink in, but it still doesn’t feel real."

She chose to receive her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.2 million, rather than 30 annuity payments for the full amount, lottery officials said.

"Winning $2 million is unbelievable and lifechanging," the woman said. "I plan to save my winnings until I decided what I want to do with the money."
