Officers were first called at roughly 3 a.m. Sunday morning to check on a disturbance at a Sterling Heights apartment complex at 18 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue where they found blood inside the apartment but did not find anyone at the home, according to police.

Officers were then called to the Clinton Township condominium where they found Goler and the victim in her car in the parking lot, according to police.

Goler was then arrested in connection with the deadly stabbing.

"The defendant allegedly chose to take the life of his pregnant girlfriend, someone who trusted and loved him," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said. "Justice demands that he face the consequences of his crimes. These acts are not merely crimes against individuals but against the very fabric of humanity itself."
