Meijer Gas Mix Up Affects Drivers

Unleaded gasoline and diesel fuel were put in the wrong storage tanks, causing customers headaches at a Clinton Township Meijer.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — If you’ve had car problems since purchasing fuel at a Clinton Township Meijer gas station on Friday, Nov. 17, you’re not alone. About 250 customers were affected when diesel fuel and unleaded gasoline were pumped into the wrong storage tanks underneath the S. Groesbeck High station, according to a Macomb Daily report.

Customers who purchased unleaded regular and mid-grade gas and diesel fuel may have suffered some damage to their vehicles. Customers who purchased premium fuel were not affected.
“We’re just trying to make sure everyone who was affected is aware, and we will cover the costs of any repairs,” Meijer Senior Director of Communications Frank Guglielmi said.
