Metro Detroit Weekend Weather Forecast: Rain, Cooler Temps

The Detroit area will see a mostly wet weekend, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

METRO DETROIT, MI β€” If you were thinking about starting the weekend early by taking Friday off, good idea, at least from a weather standpoint. According to the National Weather Service, Friday appears to be the best of the next few days with partly sunny skies and a high near 66. The rest of the weekend will be wet.

As for the remainder of Thursday, look for showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 5 p.m. with a high near 74 degrees. Here’s a look at the rest of the weekend forecast:

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. West southwest wind 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 66. South wind 5 to 11 mph. Friday Night: A chance of showers after 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Saturday: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 60. North northeast wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Saturday Night: Showers likely, mainly after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 42. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday: Showers likely, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 65. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Sunday Night: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 54.

On Monday, the National Weather Service is calling for a chance of showers and a high near 66. It’s expected to be a breezy day.
