Parade Welcomes Holiday Season

Annual Santa Parade gets rolling Saturday morning in Mount Clemens

The holiday season officially gets underway in Macomb County Saturday morning when the Santa Parade gets rolling at 10 a.m. in Mount Clemens.

The event, currently in its 40th year, begins on Main Street at Church Street and moves north to Clinton Street, according to a report in the Macomb Daily.

  • Broadcasting personality Jay Towers will serve as grand marshal
  • Mount Clemens Public Library 150th anniversary float
  • Capt. Fishbone and Pirate Crew
  • Rooftop Landing Reindeer
  • About 200 Oakland University students, faculty and staff, along with Oakland University mascot, Grizz
  • L’Anse Creuse High School North Crusaders and Utica High School Chieftains
  • More live music from First Michigan Colonial Fife & Drum Corps and Gratitude Steel Band
  • An inflatable Christmas Village
  • Characters such as Rudolph, Elsa, Olaf and more.

And if that wasn’t enough — the National Weather Service is calling for snow during the event, adding to the holiday atmosphere.
