Restaurant Blocked From Using Muer Name

A new restaurant at the Mall at Partridge Creek, which will open soon, has fought and lost the right to use the Muer name in court.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI. — The Muer family name can’t be used to help promote M’s Table + Bar at the Mall at Partridge Creek either before or after it opens. A Macomb County Circuit judge is expected to sign an order Monday barring Karet Projects LLC — owned in part by David Muer, a relative of the owners of Joe Muer Seafood in Detroit — from using the name, according to a Macomb Daily report.

“The judge met in private with attorneys for both sides on Friday afternoon after Vicari’s Seafood of Detroit company filed a motion for contempt of court against the defendants.”
“The judge previously ruled against the restaurant operators, ordering them not use the Muer name in the title.”
