Shut Up (Literally, You're Too Loud): Michigan's Drunkest Cities

Several southeast Michigan cities made infotainment website's list of the booziest places in the state.

You may need a tall glass of water and a triple dose of extra-strength aspirin — that “hair of the dog” thing is kind of tricky — for this one.

The infotainment website Roadsnacks thinks Michigan, where 25 percent of residents have admitted to binge drinking at least once in the last month, has a drinking problem.

Oh, the humanity.

RoadSnacks looked at the number of available places to buy booze and how often people talk about drinking, drunk tweets, and more scientific data like divorce rates,to come up with its list of The Drunkest Cities in Michigan.

Here are the Top 10:

  1. Traverse City
  2. Mount Clemens
  3. Ferndale
  4. Muskegon
  5. Benton Harbor
  6. Kalamazoo
  7. Escanaba
  8. Flint
  9. Grand Haven
  10. Bay City

Several southeast Michigan communities also made the list, including:

Rochester, No. 14; Clawson, No. 16; Royal Oak, No. 20; Birmingham, No. 22; Fenton, No. 24; Farmington and Wyandotte, tie for No. 27; Berkley, No. 31; St. Clair Shores, No. 51; Trenton, No.55; Novi, No. 67; Troy, No. 70; Grosse Pointe Park, No. 72; Dearborn, No. 79; New Baltimore, No. 84; and Rochester Hills, No. 26.
