2 Dearborn Outdoor Pools Offering Free Entry Amid Heat Wave

Two Dearborn outdoor pools are offering residents free entry this week amid a heat wave, officials announced Tuesday.

DEARBORN, MI — Two Dearborn outdoor pools are offering residents free entry this week amid a heat wave that has pushed temperatures over 90 degrees with heat indices near 100 degrees.

Residents can swim for free at the Ford Woods Park pool (located at 5700 Greenfield Rd: between 1 - 6 p.m.) and the Dunworth Pool at Levagood Park (located at 801 N Denwood St: between 1 - 8 p.m.) through Friday.

Visitors must show proof of their residency in Dearborn by presenting a driver's license, state ID, school ID, or another official document with their photo, name, and address to enter. Residents will be admitted to the pools on a first-come-first-served basis as capacity is limited.

"Our public pools continue to be one of the best public amenities available to all Dearborn residents. We hope families are able to take advantage of this free pool period to cool off while using additional precautions during this particularly intense heat wave," Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud said.
