Masked Men Rob Dearborn Jewelry Stole At Gunpoint; No Arrests: Police

At one point, an employee fired several shots at the masked men, causing them to run out of the store, according to police.​

DEARBORN, MI — Police are looking for two men who they said robbed a Dearborn jewelry store at gunpoint last week.

The robbery happened at the Mariam jewelry Store, located on the 7000 block of Schaefer Road, near Tireman Avenue, at 5:30 p.m. last Wednesday, according to police.

Police said two men, who wearing masks and carrying a rifle, walked into the store and demanded employees and customers get on the ground.

One of the men held everyone at gunpoint, while the other ransacked the business and placed several items into a bag, according to police.

The two men then got into a black sedan, possibly a 2011-2013 model year Mazda 3 with paint peeling on the hood and trunk of the vehicle, according to police.

No customers or employees were injured in the incident, according to police.

Police do not know if any suspects were injured in the incident.

"The Dearborn Police Department will aggressively investigate this crime and utilize all available resources to bring these suspects to justice. We are urging the public to come forward and provide information to assist with the investigation," Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin said.
