SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — DTE Energy said Wednesday morning they hope to have a majority of Detroit area customers who lost power during Tuesday's storms restored by the end of Thursday.

DTE Vice President of distribution operations Brian Kalka said linemen have restored roughly 120,000 customers by Wednesday morning and hopes to have 75 percent restored by Wednesday night and 90 percent by Thursday night.

The last remaining outages should be restored by the end of Friday, Kalka said.

The utility has called in roughly 400 crews from other states, including Wisconsin, Tennessee and New York to help restore power.

The utility reminded residents to stay at least 25 feet away from any downed power line and completely away from any caution tape. They also said do not touch any object a downed power line is touching and always keep a generator outdoors away from doors and windows.
