Part Of I-96 In Oakland County Closed Due To Downed Power Lines: MDOT

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — Part of Interstate 96 in Oakland County is closed Friday morning due to power lines on the freeway, according to road officials.

All eastbound lanes on Interstate 96 is closed at Milford Road and all westbound lanes on Interstate 96 is closed after Wixom Road, according to road officials.

A DTE Energy spokesperson told Patch a road construction crane hit the powers lines that cross high over the freeway near Milford.

Crews said they hope to make repairs and restore power to the area sometime early Friday afternoon.
