Rochester Police responded Jan. 26 to the 400 block of Parkdale on a report of someone striking a speed limit pole in the area.
According to the department, a person living in the area reported hearing a loud bang before going outside to find the pole lying on the sidewalk.
The caller couldn't provide a vehicle description. Tire tracks could be seen coming off the roadway and onto the sidewalk. The pole had been hit, ripping its wires from the base of the pole.
