Royal Oak Schools Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

ROYAL OAK, MI — Summer is almost over for Royal Oak students. The first day of school in the Royal Oak Schools District is Aug. 26.

Students will have late starts on most Wednesdays throughout the school year. The start times and dismissals include:

• Elementary 8:25 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (late start 9:25 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
• Middle Schools 7:50 a.m. - 2:50 p.m. (late start 8:50 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.)
• High Schools 7:55 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (late start 8:55 a.m. -3:00 p.m.)

Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

Start date: Monday, Aug. 26.

Family-teacher conferences: Oct. 17 (High Schools), Oct. 24 (Middle Schools), Nov. 14 (Elementary schools).

End of quarter 1: Nov. 1

Professional development day, no school: Nov. 5

Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 5

Thanksgiving break: Nov. 27-29

Elementary Conferences: Dec. 5

Winter break: Dec. 23-Jan. 3

Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school: Monday, Jan. 2

End of quarter 2: Jan. 24

Mid-winter break: Feb. 14-Feb 18

Family-teacher conference: Mar. 6 (High School), Mar. 13 (Middle Schools)

Spring break: Mar. 31-April 4

End of quarter 3: April 11

Last day: June 12
