Doctor Touches Himself In Front Of Elderly Woman In Macomb Co.: Police

Police said the incident happened at the 76-year-old​ woman's home in Macomb County.

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI — A Detroit doctor was arrested after making sexual advances and performing a lewd act in front of an elderly woman in her Sterling Heights home, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.

Stephen Bruce Mason, 53, was charged with assault (a 93-day misdemeanor) and aggravated indecent exposure (two year high court misdemeanor). He was placed in jail with a $1,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 22.

Prosecutors said Mason drove to the 76-year-old woman's home in Sterling Heights on Aug. 1 after taking her to a hair appointment.

The woman then invited Mason into her home, according to prosecutors.

Once inside her home, prosecutors said Mason made sexual advances, which the elderly woman rejected.

After being rebuffed, Mason then masturbated in front of her, according to prosecutors.

The elderly woman was not physically injured, according to prosecutors.

Mason befriended the elderly woman online, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors did not specify Mason's doctor status, but Mason has a valid license as a medical doctor and is listed on Google as practicing in Southfield.

"Our legal system does not discriminate based on profession or social standing," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said in a statement. "Whether you are a doctor or any other member of the community, the law applies equally to everyone. We are dedicated to pursuing justice impartially, ensuring that all individuals are held accountable for their actions."
