November Heatwave Is All But Guaranteed: MN Weather

TWIN CITIES, MN — If you count yourself as a snow lover, you hopefully cherished what we got over Halloween. Because there won't be another flake in sight for a while.

The latest mid-range forecast from the National Weather Service all but guarantees a November heatwave. "Warmer than normal temperatures are favored for mid-November across the Upper Midwest," the NWS said.

The average temperature for November in Minnesota is 39.3 degrees, according to St. Cloud State Climate data from 1991 through 2020.

Here's the specific NWS forecast from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport:

Tuesday: A slight chance of rain between 8am and 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. East southeast wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of rain before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 40. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51. East southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 49. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
