The EPPD is proud to announce that Lt. Chris Wood has been promoted to captain effective Feb. 26, replacing Bill Wyffels who retired in November.

Lt. Wood began his career with Eden Prairie as a park ranger in 1998. He was hired as an officer in 1999, promoted to sergeant in 2004 and promoted to lieutenant in 2018. As captain, he will supervise the three Police Department divisions  Patrol, Investigations and Support.

During his tenure, Lt. Wood has worked as a field training officer, SWAT team member and sergeant, training sergeant, adult investigations sergeant, Support Division lieutenant, Patrol Division lieutenant and SWAT commander.

Lt. Wood earned a bachelor's degree in wildlife and fisheries biology from North Dakota State University.
